Why We Don’t Do Subscriptions
Because creative tools should feel like gear, not rent.
To the Podcasters, Presenters, Performers, and Builders of Digital Worlds:
We believe that your studio tools should be exactly like your favorite microphone, your best lens, or your lucky chair: They should belong to you.
In the last decade, the software industry has shifted. It stopped selling tools and started renting them. You’re now expected to pay a "subscription tax" just to keep your own workflow alive. If you stop paying, your creativity is locked behind a paywall.
We think that’s broken. Here is our promise to you:
1. Ownership, Not Overhead
When you buy ModStream, you own it. Period. There is no monthly bill, no "membership" to manage, and no fear that your tools will stop working if you take a month off. You bought the instrument. You keep the instrument.
2. Respect for the Everyday Space
